This search tool allows to find descriptions of archival materials on the fond level (database SEZAM and ZoSIA) and on the file level (inventories - without inventories from State Archives in Lublin and Poznan), as well as information about registers of population (database ELA) and civil records (database PRADZIAD).

The search engine searches fonds' titles, administrative histories, scopes and contents, the titles of series, subseries, files, indexes (also records from the state archives in Lublin and Poznan), civil records and population's registers. The results show the found fonds at first and then foundd files, next lists of population's register and civil records.

Information on the national archival holdings preserved by Polish State Archives and by the institutions, which cooperate with Archives: the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw and its Branch in Poznań, Archives of the Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences and of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences in Kraków, Archives of the Mikołaj Kopernik University in Toruń and of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw, of Warsaw University Library, of The Society of Solidarity Archives, of the Museum of the Piast Dynasty on Lednica, of the Łódź Branch of the Association of Siberian Deportees, of the Stanislaw Konopko Central Medical Library in Warsaw, of Pilsudski Institute of America and of the Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences of America in New York.

Database includes information from bases of more than 24 900 fonds, i.e. over 28% of all fonds preserved in state archives.
The presented inventories refer to fonds from 73 state archives and their local branches (without records from the State Archives in Lublin and Poznan) and other institutions, such as: the First Piasts Museum at Lednica, the Mikołaj Kopernik University Archives in Toruń, the Łódź Branch of the Association of Siberian Deportees, the Stanislaw Konopko Central Medical Library in Warsaw, the Society of Solidarity Archives, the Pilsudski Institute of America, the Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences of America in New York .

The System contains information about archival holdings preserved by State Archives in Lublin and Poznan and their local branches. It gathers descriptions on three levels: fonds, files and items. 'ZoSIA' is accesible on the website www.szukajwarchiwach.pl. There are also some selected fonds from the Central Archives of Modern Records, the State Archive of the Capital City of Warsaw and from the Hoover Institution Archive presented. 'ZoSIA' includes some digital copies of the documents too.

The present version of the PRADZIAD database (the Programme for the Registration of Records from Parish and Civil Registration Offices) was completed in 2011. It contains data on parish and civil registers preserved in all state archives and from the holdings of the Stanisław Staszic Pomeranian Library in Szczecin, of the Archdiocesan Archives in Łódź, Poznań, Szczecin, Warsaw and Wrocław, from the holdings of the Diocesan Archives in Drohiczyn, Płock and Włocławek, and on Jewish and Roman Catholic parish registers preserved at the Civil Registration Office in Warsaw – the so called "Zabużańskie" Archive (of the region beyond the Bug river). The PRADZIAD database neither contains lists of names nor information on specific persons.
