Data bases
The fonds' titles, administrative histories, scopes and contents, the titles of series, subseries, files, indexes, civil records and population's registers are searched. The results show the founded fonds at first and then founded files, next lists of population's register and civil records.
The SEZAM database, contains information on the national archival holdings preserved by State Archives and these institutions: the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw and its Branch in Poznań, Archives of the Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences and of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences in Kraków, Archives of the Mikołaj Kopernik University in Toruń and of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw, of Warsaw University Library, of The Society of Solidarity Archives, of the Museum of the Piast Dynasty on Lednica, of the Łódź Branch of the Association of Siberian Deportees, of the Stanislaw Konopko Central Medical Library in Warsaw, of Pilsudski Institute of America and of the Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences of America in New York.
Database includes information from bases of more than 23 200 fonds, i.e. over 28% of all fonds preserved in state archives.
The presented inventories refer to fonds from 81 state archives and their local branches and other institutions, such as: the First Piasts Museum at Lednica, the Mikołaj Kopernik University Archives in Toruń, the Łódź Branch of the Association of Siberian Deportees, the Stanislaw Konopko Central Medical Library in Warsaw, the Society of Solidarity Archives, the Pilsudski Institute of America, the Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences of America in New York .
The present version of the PRADZIAD database (the Programme for the Registration of Records from Parish and Civil Registration Offices) was completed in 2009 . It contains data on parish and civil registers preserved in all state archives and from the holdings of the Stanisław Staszic Pomeranian Library in Szczecin, of the Archdiocesan Archives in Łódź, Poznań, Szczecin and Wrocław, from the holdings of the Diocesan Archives in Drohiczyn, Płock and Włocławek, and on Jewish and Roman Catholic parish registers preserved at the Civil Registration Office in Warsaw – the so called "Zabużańskie" Archive (of the region beyond the Bug river). The PRADZIAD database neither contains lists of names nor information on specific persons.
The database named The Registers of Population in Archival Materials ELA comprises data on all registers of population (lists, rolls, card-index records etc.), which could be found in archival materials kept in state archives. The database did not include parish and public (civil) registers for which separate data base (PRADZIAD) has been set up. The database neither contains lists of names nor information on specific persons.
