The Archive Council is an advisory and expert board which supports the General Director of the State Archives in carrying out his responsibilities.
The Archive Council consists of 15 members, whose efforts are coordinated by the Council Head. Council members are appointed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage upon the request of the General Director of the State Archives, who selects them in consultation with the Association of Polish Archivists.
The status and activities of the Archive Council are regulated by the Act on the National Archival Resource and State Archives of July 14, 1983, as well as the Charter of The State Archives Head Office.
