Cooperation with foreign partners is an important task carried out by the General Director of the State Archives. It is based on the provisions of the Archives Act and bilateral agreements with the management boards of national archives in Europe and beyond. The main form of these contacts – apart from the exchange of personnel and experience and international conferences – are jointly implemented international programs. They serve not only to integrate archivists from different countries, but also to shape the historical awareness of societies in other countries.
The State Archives in Poland cooperate with over 30 national archives in the European Union and beyond (in Asia, Australia, North and South America).
