
“Comprehensive energy modernisation of selected State Archives’ buildings in Poland – stage 2”
The second stage of the project involves the comprehensive energy modernisation of State Archives’ buildings. Its implementation are intended to make the buildings more environmentally friendly and make it possible to safely store and share archival materials.
The project is aimed at improving the energy efficiency of 27 selected buildings belonging to 20 State Archives across the country.
Thermal modernisation will be carried out on the basis of the documentation drawn up during the first stage of the project.
The scope of work, depending on the building, includes:
- insulation of walls below and above ground,
- insulation of ceilings,
- insulation of flat roofs,
- insulation of roofs,
- insulation of slab-on-grade floors,
- replacement of door joinery,
- replacement of window joinery,
- replacement of roof windows,
- modernisation of central heating systems,
- modernisation of domestic hot water systems,
- use of renewable energy sources,
- modernisation of air-conditioning systems,
- modernisation of ventilation systems,
- building energy management systems,
- replacement of light fittings and light sources with energy-efficient ones and replacement of systems,
- photovoltaic systems,
- installation of heat pumps.
The second stage of the project will be implemented between 2024 and 2029.
The project will help reduce:
- greenhouse gas emissions,
- heat energy consumption,
- final energy consumption.
The project is co-financed by the European Union from the Cohesion Fund and from the state budget under the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate and Environment 2021–2027 programme, priority FENX.01. Support for the energy and environment sectors.

EU funding: PLN 278,761,750.00

The project is fully in line with the objectives of the 2021–2027 Cohesion Policy (PO2 “A greener, low-carbon Europe” of the Partnership Agreement for the implementation of the 2021–2027 Cohesion Policy in Poland) and the Energy Policy of Poland until 2040 (EPP2040).
